I loved your game, it was cool to learn a few new Japanese terms too. The squeaking boots were cool at first but became annoying. I loved the puzzles, and they were quite a challenge. The hint system was nice too. Assuming most of it was in time for the jam, you made an incredibly long game. Wish there was a map function for the room you are in, maybe I would have seen there was no door 12, but that might be a lot of work when you finished with this game long again. Hope you are proud of this cause it was awesome to play.
if you picked up letters, you can put them in the book under the first picture and they turn orange if you correctly place the letter, if you can't pick up letters, it means you need to find "an item that makes you less cold". It seems like the dev doesn't want to say it outright so I won't say, but I was impossibly stuck for 2 hours cause I didn't know you needed an item before being able to get items.
Maybe I'm stupid, but the grid puzzle in M2 isn't clear enough. I've looked over the hint and tried every combination I could think of but nothing is working. If someone knows it or if I could get some assistance, I'd really appreciate it because I cannot figure it out for the life of me.
If you did, notice there is a section of the room that has these symbols on the walls, and there should be a red, green and blue stool above or below them. You match the colors with the ones on the grid paper and the on/off note tells you if stool above or below means on or off.
IT just hit me the moment you mentioned their positionals. So i really am just stupid haha. Thank you so much for the help and sorry for bothering you with my simple mindedness lol
I helped somebody else with a similar problem earlier here. It's that problem, right? I think it's more specific than the hints. There's two parts, so I wanted to be sure you're trying the first one and not the second one.
As explained in the last hint, it's like the other gravestone puzzle. The only other difference between that puzzle and this one is that you had to count up how many times a particular gravestone is in the up position every time you press the button, and each gravestone stands for a digit, whereas in this one, you'll notice that you can only press the button four times before the gravestone patterns reset, which means you get the first digit from adding up all the gravestone numbers the first time you press the button, the second digit from pressing the button a second time and so on.
There isn't one. I just put it there on the map because you can find all the letters in the room there. Maybe I should find a different icon for it I guess.
the jumping and legde grabbing mechanics definitely should be tackled if thats possible, it gets frustrating trying to jump across platforms in this when sometimes your character just doesnt get enough height or at the right angle, spending alot more time trying to land these jumps then trying to follow the story and collect letters
I think since some people have mentioned having issues with this particular puzzle, I'm planning on implementing a hints system so that it won't ruin the challenge for the people who do manage to solve it.
Well you're on the right track; not sure how exactly you are translating those numbers into the dials; do you interpret the 1 to mean the dial position of the 5th dial or is it turn the 1st dial so it's facing up and left?
Oh, I get it now, thanks. Now they turned multicolored. I acounted them by color: red=7, green=5, purple=4, yellow=1, blue=1, cyan=3. How do I turn it into the right order for the code for the door bellow?
The game is fun but honestly unplayable. The ledges are to sensitive and buggy to really enjoy. It's frustrating cause I am more so jumping and smacking the character against a ledge more than him actually catching it. I cannot get pass the second stage because he is just not catching the ledge.
The art is good, but the game was not playtested secondhand and it shows.
I ended up fumbling around for some puzzles because there's very little to work with. As the one who designed them, some solutions are probably crystal clear to you. But hints could've been nice, because I decided not to finish the game at the room with 6 dials that have 6 positions each and a pad with 6 numbers. I'm not trying all the cominations to move forward, and the only clue we're left with are colored flames and a reminder of what the numbers are on a clock.
The platforming can be really annoying as well, sometimes setting you way back for missing a very tight jump when the character's hands did touch the ledge you had to grab onto. Near-perfect timing is sometimes required multiple times in a row, and the responsiveness of the controls doesn't help.
I like difficulty, and I wish more X-rated games had that, but damn. Some hints would've made the experience better.
I've made some improvements to the gameplay and the gaps between the ledges. I'm not entirely sure if they will help in your case, but for example, the ceilings won't interrupt your jumps anymore, and you now have to hold down the jump button to hang onto a ledge instead of the arrow buttons so it won't interfere with jump control.
That said, if your problem with the platforming is that it's not twitchy enough, it's that way by design; this is a cinematic platformer.
Alright, so having finally played the game and completed it, I have a few thoughts.
First thing I wanna say is congrats for developing and programming the project o your own. To put all that time, effort and energy into this is an accomplishment all on it's own and I really commend you for doing so.
Secondly, the art in this game, actual in-game assets and the separate art itself is beautiful. On a separate note, I've been following you since the old days on Y!Gallery and have been a huge fan so your quality would never be brought to question.
Third, the puzzles were a nice inclusion and made the game just a little more challenging then just gathering letters. There was one puzzle (The Model) that gave me a bit of trouble at first but I figured it out after a few minuets. But everything else, even the bottle puzzle, kind of clicked after a few seconds for me.
My last thing of note would have to be the platforming and movement in the game, and this is really the only critique I have. The character is pretty heavy to control at time, and the jumping it a little finicky. I think I spent more time getting frustrated trying to jump from platform to platform then with any of the puzzles. It's not terrible, but I'm glad that this game has gamepad support, because I don't know how much longer I would have gone using keyboard controls.
All in all, this was a super fun game with astounding art and well thought out puzzles. You said you plan to add more content in the future so I'm definitely looking forward to what else will be implemented later on.
It's just when I try to launch the binary through itch.io app. Windows 10. I see this message right after the load bar. I'll try to reinstall it. UPDATE: Reintallation helped!
Thanks for the feedback. I've had to disable the threads support because itch.io does not support the CORS headers required for it to work. So it should work now, although there might be audio latency, depending on which browser you're on. I'll try to provide binary builds soon.

Pretty fun game.

Did you at least find the grid paper?

did anyone figure out the jack-o-lantern puzzle??
As explained in the last hint, it's like the other gravestone puzzle. The only other difference between that puzzle and this one is that you had to count up how many times a particular gravestone is in the up position every time you press the button, and each gravestone stands for a digit, whereas in this one, you'll notice that you can only press the button four times before the gravestone patterns reset, which means you get the first digit from adding up all the gravestone numbers the first time you press the button, the second digit from pressing the button a second time and so on.

where is door 12?
There isn't one. I just put it there on the map because you can find all the letters in the room there. Maybe I should find a different icon for it I guess.
The browser and windows x64 versions won't let me pick up letters or items!
You'll be able to do it after getting a certain item in the game. There are some button hints that show up if you're able to do something.
the jumping and legde grabbing mechanics definitely should be tackled if thats possible, it gets frustrating trying to jump across platforms in this when sometimes your character just doesnt get enough height or at the right angle, spending alot more time trying to land these jumps then trying to follow the story and collect letters
What are we supposed to do with the raspberry key and jams?
They're hints for some puzzles for unlocking the doors. There will be a hint system soon so that if you get stuck, you can look at it.
there is a glitch.I can't jump shit
nevermind
What's the logic begind the multicolored torches puzzle?
I think since some people have mentioned having issues with this particular puzzle, I'm planning on implementing a hints system so that it won't ruin the challenge for the people who do manage to solve it.
I still don't get it. If I add the torches and get something like:
6
1 2
5 4
3
No matter in what order I use these number in the door above or below, they don't open.
Well you're on the right track; not sure how exactly you are translating those numbers into the dials; do you interpret the 1 to mean the dial position of the 5th dial or is it turn the 1st dial so it's facing up and left?

You need a special item for this. Do you have the raspberry crate and key at least?
Great puzzles and art. I wish there was some actual sexy action instead of just unlocking static unrelated CGs.
The game is fun but honestly unplayable. The ledges are to sensitive and buggy to really enjoy. It's frustrating cause I am more so jumping and smacking the character against a ledge more than him actually catching it. I cannot get pass the second stage because he is just not catching the ledge.

Thanks. I think next time for the jumps, I might reduce the spacing between the platforms, and maybe have fewer gaps that wide.
But I'm glad you enjoyed it.
"function signature mismatch" error
I haven't been able to reproduce that unfortunately. Which browser and OS is it?
In the meantime, you can try the binary builds.
It's just when I try to launch the binary through itch.io app. Windows 10. I see this message right after the load bar. I'll try to reinstall it. UPDATE: Reintallation helped!
Oh, thanks for the feedback. I didn't think to try running through the itch.io app.
Game won't load up for me. Just stays stuck at the loading screen.
